Review: Moon Shadows

Moon Shadows
Moon Shadows by Neena Jaydon

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 stars. I loved this. Took me awhile to warm up to Max, but I ended up loving him and Theo together. And Theo is just freakin adorable! Great, spooky plot, but not too sure what the purpose of the shadows. They were sinister, but we never knew exactly why they were here.

Other than that, awesome m/m werewolf/ghost story. Recommended!

Review: Body Magic

Body Magic
Body Magic by Poppy Dennison

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars. I enjoyed this one almost as much as the first. I say almost only because this is a trilogy and things were left very open at the end. I kinda wish I had waited until the next book is out because now I'm so impatient to read the next! I can't wait to see who the next couple is (Cormac please?) and I love reading about Simon and Gray and the family.

Recommended if you've read the first book (which you should!). :)

Review: Moving On

Moving On
Moving On by H.J. Holt

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 stars. I actually started this a few weeks ago and put it down. Picked it back up again today and plodded through. I can't put my finger on what it was, but it was a bit...slow. I mean, by the blurb you think the ex will be a huge deal but there's a brief confrontation and then he's gone? And while the sex was hot, there was so much of it! Plus, what kind of partner lets his 'friend' put down his man and doesn't even say anything about it?

Despite what I wrote, I didn't hate it. The writing wasn't bad, I think I was just expecting more.

Review: Love in La Terraza

Love in La Terraza
Love in La Terraza by Ethan Day

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this! Loved the two MC's, and the tenants of La Terraza were hilarious. Great dialogue and humor throughout. Sweet love story, plus, the sex was off the charts hot! Can see myself rereading this in the future.

Review: With a Kiss

With a Kiss
With a Kiss by Kim Dare

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kim Dare is known for her steamy BDSM writing. Doms, subs, leather, whipping, spanking, bondage; you'll find that and more in her work. But I think this is hands down my favorite story of hers. While it is a BDSM romance, it's so much more. Liam is a volunteer at a hospital. He sits with a patient and chats to keep them company. He has been assigned to Marcus (a vampire, but apparently that's ok in this reality. Though that's never really explained, they are fully intergrated with human society), who has been in a coma for three years. Liam also has an abusive boyfriend. After a bad beating, he ends up waking Marcus up with a chaste kiss on New Years Eve.

And what follows next is such an amazing love story. Liam is frightened of most things, but Marcus treats him with such care and patience (all the while suffering from the after effects of a vampire being in a coma for three years). Liam opening up to Marcus (and the outside world) and Marcus' feelings for his 'pet' is just such a fantastic read.

A great twist on a classic fairytale!!

Review: One Real Thing

One Real Thing
One Real Thing by Anah Crow

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG, the love I have for this book knows no bounds.Everything about this book hits my hot spots. The characters, the pacing, the writing, the relationship (the subtle...and then not-so-subtle D/S overtones throughout the book were spot-on and fucking perfect). I even enjoyed the secondary characters as they were pretty well fleshed out. It's a friends-to-lovers story, but so.much.more. Watching Holly and Nick each crash and burn in their respective lives and then figure out what they have both been missing out on is just amazing. I can't recommend this book enough!

Nighttime Wishes
Nighttime Wishes by M.A. Church

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars! I freakin loved this! I had no idea what was going to happen...and then I had to keep reading to find out what happens next! And its book one! Can't wait until the next book! (seriously, when is it coming out?)

Pure, fantasy m/m sci-fi (which was exactly what I was in the mood for and just didn't know it) :)

Review: Perfect Day

Perfect Day
Perfect Day by Josh Lanyon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars. Loved this! It's only shy of 30 pages, but you can't even tell when your done reading. Most short stories leave you wanting more, but this one was just perfect. You get to know Graham and Wyatt and their emotions are spot-on.

Let There Be Light
Let There Be Light by R. Cooper

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Really, really wanted a little more at the end. What happens next!?!?

The sexual tension between the characters was great and liked the steampunk setting.

Review: Play It Again, Charlie

Play It Again, Charlie
Play It Again, Charlie by R. Cooper

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5-4 stars. I really enjoyed this one. I liked the slow pace and adored both characters. I do wish we got to see Charlie from Will's POV once in awhile. (and I think I'm developing a daddy!kink because that smexxin' was pretty hot!)

These guys did need to communicate better! I was confused for alot of their conversations for the simple fact that they were confused by what the other wanted or meant. Loved how it all turned out and would love to read more of this couple.

The Psychic and the Sleuth
The Psychic and the Sleuth by Bonnie Dee

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by this writing team, and let me tell you, I loved it! I have a few other books by these authors on my TBR list and I'll be moving them to the top.

Really enjoyed both characters (especially Oliver) and the paranormal aspect of the story. And the sexxin' between these two? I thought it was smokin' hot!

Fire and Fang
Fire and Fang by Eden Cole

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 stars. I actually liked this one! Reminds me why Eden Cole is such a guilty pleasure for me. I wouldn't of minded if it was a bit longer since it felt a little rushed towards the end.

Review: Ink

Ink
Ink by Isabelle Rowan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 stars. Interesting story about a vampire and a tattoo artist. I liked Michael and Dominic enough but the book didn't really pick up for me until about halfway through when Dominic's maker returns. (and by the end, I was more interested in Galen's character)

Review: Sounds of Love

Sounds of Love
Sounds of Love by Susan Laine

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 stars. Loved the beginning, but lagged a bit for me in the middle. Didn't really see the point of the secondary relationship (maybe if the book was longer or setting up for a sequel?) since it didn't really add much to the story. I did love Jordon though. :)

(and is it just me, or do the guys on the cover look really young?)

Review: An Alpha's Pride

An Alpha's Pride
An Alpha's Pride by Stormy Glenn

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I liked these characters by the ending, but there was just too much I couldn't like about them for most of the book. (mostly Daniel...and I hated how the author tried to make him more sympathetic after he was such a jerk. somehow I didn't really feel much sympathy for him)

Will read the next in the series since I did like the end of this one. (and I seem to be strangely addicted to siren books...)

Loving this gorgeous weather!

It was over 70 degrees today. In New England. IN MARCH!! (really, the world is going to end!) Just grilled up some hot dogs and burgers for my kidlets on our new grill (lost the other one in a crazy wind storm a few months back) and now watching 'Tangled' for the hundredth or so time. Need something new to read, but not really sure what I'm in the mood for yet. I have a bunch of already bought books on my kindle, but there's a few new ones out I really want. (can we say no willpower? this is why dieting never works for me!) Really want; Eden Winters Diversion Susan Laine's Sounds of Love looks pretty good (though the guys on the cover look really young? or is that just me?) and SE Culpeppers Question Mark all on my 'to-buy' list, but I have so many books already! (but don't they all look so good?)

St. Paddy's Day....and sickness

Had a fun St. Paddy's Day, but think I spent too much time outside near the fire pit because the sinus infection I have right now is laying me out. I actually called out of work today. (actually, I walked into work, got the evil eye for even thinking of spreading my germs, and got sent home)
(me and my husband to be hamming it up for the camera)

Review: The Rebuilding Year

The Rebuilding Year
The Rebuilding Year by Kaje Harper

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3-3.5 stars. Great writing and I enjoyed the characters, but for some reason the romance fell a little short for me. There wasn't much build up to them suddenly kissing and wanting each other. Story was enjoyable though and I'm looking forward to the author's next book.

I'm a Barbie Girl

Hanging out with my little girl (who's a little over 2) today. She's basically taken over my new smart phone and is listening to that old song 'Barbie Girl' over and over. (and over...and over...and over...) And my willpower sucks. I bought Kaje Harper's new book last night. (and SE Culpepper's newest is next on the list!) Doesn't matter that I have a bunch of already bought books waiting for me to read on my kindle.

new blogger image!

new banner for my blog. hopefully it motivates me to post! (and, damn! i miss you photoshop!)

sorry for party rockin...

First time trying to post from my pretty kindle fire. See that title? My children are obsessed with that song (and video). Though at least I don't have to listen to 'Poker Face' for the thousandth time. (their other obsession...Lady Gaga) So I really never post anything but my little goodreads reviews. Let's see if I can update this thing with other stuff once in awhile. My reading list lately has consisted of Lynn Hagen's 'Brac Pack' series. yeah, I know. It's like fluffy crack for my brain. Sometimes you just want some fluff with no real substance. (brain candy?) Anyways, those bastards at Siren Publishing made some cash from me. (and ps-who is their cover artist? I could do better than that and I've never made cover art before!) Grandma has my kidlets tonight so I'm planning on relaxing in front of the fire while the fiance plays ps3. (though I think I want to buy a new book...Kaje Harper's newest came out this week and I waaant)

Review: Falling Off the Face of the Earth

Falling Off the Face of the Earth
Falling Off the Face of the Earth by JF Smith

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4-4.5 stars. Seriously awesome book that I felt I was getting for a steal at $.99 cents! Loved the character, the emotions, the family and friendship interactions...can't gush about it enough. I would of loved some 'on-page' smexxin, but that's just my pervy self. *grins*

Definitely adding this author to my 'auto-buy' list.

Review: Latakia

Latakia
Latakia by JF Smith

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4-4.5 stars. I loved this! Grabbed me and wouldn't let me put it down until I finished every word. (and wasn't I please about that when I had to wake up extra early for work the next day!) I loved the characters (though Matt was way too wishy-washy about Brian for too long!); especially Petey! He was so offensive, but you just end up loving him. (can he have his own book too? and can he be gay? lol)

Totally recommend this one and with the awesome price of $0.99 cents, it's practically a steal!

Review: Hanged Man's Ghost

Hanged Man's Ghost
Hanged Man's Ghost by Missouri Dalton

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. I've never read anything from this author before, but the blurb sounded interesting so I gave it a go. I have to say that I really enjoyed the overall story. Interesting paranormal world that Fynn gets thrown into. There was ALOT going on here. I did feel some of the changing plot points happened kind of fast. And there's a romance, but I felt that should of been a little more worked up to. And zero on-page sex, it's all fade to black (I definitely would of loved a bit of graphic smexxin with everything else that was going on!)

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and the cover says 'BOOK ONE', so now I can't wait to see what happens next. :)

Review: Thirst

Thirst
Thirst by Lisa Worrall

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars. I really enjoyed this! To warn some hardcore m/m fans, yes, there is a m/f scene and the main characters have sex with other people before they get together.

Usually that would turn me off on a book, but I really enjoy this author's writing and really glad I bought this. I liked that it wasn't a case of 'insta-love', but them both fighting the feelings for the other. And I would love to read more about Lyle and Richie. :)

(and that cover is gorgeous!)
