Review: Tag Team

Tag Team
Tag Team by S.J.D. Peterson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Really enjoy this author's writing and the blurb for this one sucked me in when I first saw it!

I really liked reading about these two dominant bears and gorgeous, emotionally wrecked guy. The emotional journey of Mason was heartbreaking. Bobby & Rig were so sweet with Mason. The three of them together was amazing and super sexy (after some great buildup.) Liked seeing Mason meeting a few of the other members of Folsom at the end (and can't wait to read more books in this series!)

What I was a little iffy on was the quickness of them getting together. I know grief and mourning come in all stages, but it seemed they got together a little too quickly (but really, I loved them together so much, I didn't really care.)

The BDSM is pretty light, just some spanking and obedience. Recommended :)

Review: Above All

Above All
Above All by Jane Elliot

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

2.5 stars. I know there were some reviews on how this was originally Stargate fanfic, but since I've never watched the show (or read any of the fanfic) that didn't bother me. While the beginning caught my attention, the actions of Jasper's 'friends' totally ruined the rest of the book for me. Who needs friends like that? Plus the sex scenes were just awkward and not sexy at all.

Review: Half a Million Dead Cannibals

Half a Million Dead Cannibals
Half a Million Dead Cannibals by Kari Gregg

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'm a huge zombie fan, so I couldn't resist zombies combined with m/m! Really great story, but I couldn't help wanting more (which always seem to be the case with this author for me...I can't help it, I'm greedy!) The zombies were creepy and I liked both the MC's. Recommended for m/m fans who don't mind a bit of horror in their reading. :)

Review: Two Lips, Indifferent Red

Two Lips, Indifferent Red
Two Lips, Indifferent Red by Tinnean

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars. Blurb does a good job of letting you know what your in for (but so much better to read about!). My only disappointment is that there's not any sex scenes. There's a few teasers, but when it finally happens, it's fade to black. Considering how much emphasis was on Kipp's inexperience and his lust for Hyde (along with his insecurities and past), I wanted to read more.

Review: A Slave in Skoria

A Slave in Skoria
A Slave in Skoria by John Tristan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

2.5 stars rounded up to 3. I still love Jason and Aedar, and it was awesome to visit with them again and get caught up in their adventures. But I was totally bummed that the book became an m/m/m romance at the end. (not that I had anything against Snow, but I adored the first book. I wanted to see my couple happy together, not happy together with another guy)

Review: The Square Peg

The Square Peg
The Square Peg by Jane Davitt

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars. Another good read! (I feel like I'm on a roll!) Loved both Shane and Ben and the rough sex was hawt! (except for the face slapping, but that's just me) Really just liked it all; the remodeling of the bar, the fights/foreplay, the lust turning into love, even the secondary characters.

Speaking of secondary characters, wonder if the authors are going to write Vin's book? (I know I'd love to read it!)

Review: The Best

The Best
The Best by Tinnean

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars. Thought this was just sweet and loved the beginning. Would of liked a bit more time with the couple...well, as a couple. They were only together for two days or so before Ran gets called off for a family emergency, so I really wanted to read more of them being together.

Review: Not an Elf

Not an Elf
Not an Elf by A.R. Moler

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 stars. Enjoyed this short story, but would of liked a bit more at the end. It ends more of a HFN instead of my favored HEA.

Review: Moon Shadows

Moon Shadows
Moon Shadows by Neena Jaydon

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 stars. I loved this. Took me awhile to warm up to Max, but I ended up loving him and Theo together. And Theo is just freakin adorable! Great, spooky plot, but not too sure what the purpose of the shadows. They were sinister, but we never knew exactly why they were here.

Other than that, awesome m/m werewolf/ghost story. Recommended!

Review: Body Magic

Body Magic
Body Magic by Poppy Dennison

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars. I enjoyed this one almost as much as the first. I say almost only because this is a trilogy and things were left very open at the end. I kinda wish I had waited until the next book is out because now I'm so impatient to read the next! I can't wait to see who the next couple is (Cormac please?) and I love reading about Simon and Gray and the family.

Recommended if you've read the first book (which you should!). :)

Review: Moving On

Moving On
Moving On by H.J. Holt

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 stars. I actually started this a few weeks ago and put it down. Picked it back up again today and plodded through. I can't put my finger on what it was, but it was a bit...slow. I mean, by the blurb you think the ex will be a huge deal but there's a brief confrontation and then he's gone? And while the sex was hot, there was so much of it! Plus, what kind of partner lets his 'friend' put down his man and doesn't even say anything about it?

Despite what I wrote, I didn't hate it. The writing wasn't bad, I think I was just expecting more.

Review: Love in La Terraza

Love in La Terraza
Love in La Terraza by Ethan Day

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this! Loved the two MC's, and the tenants of La Terraza were hilarious. Great dialogue and humor throughout. Sweet love story, plus, the sex was off the charts hot! Can see myself rereading this in the future.

Review: With a Kiss

With a Kiss
With a Kiss by Kim Dare

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kim Dare is known for her steamy BDSM writing. Doms, subs, leather, whipping, spanking, bondage; you'll find that and more in her work. But I think this is hands down my favorite story of hers. While it is a BDSM romance, it's so much more. Liam is a volunteer at a hospital. He sits with a patient and chats to keep them company. He has been assigned to Marcus (a vampire, but apparently that's ok in this reality. Though that's never really explained, they are fully intergrated with human society), who has been in a coma for three years. Liam also has an abusive boyfriend. After a bad beating, he ends up waking Marcus up with a chaste kiss on New Years Eve.

And what follows next is such an amazing love story. Liam is frightened of most things, but Marcus treats him with such care and patience (all the while suffering from the after effects of a vampire being in a coma for three years). Liam opening up to Marcus (and the outside world) and Marcus' feelings for his 'pet' is just such a fantastic read.

A great twist on a classic fairytale!!

Review: One Real Thing

One Real Thing
One Real Thing by Anah Crow

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG, the love I have for this book knows no bounds.Everything about this book hits my hot spots. The characters, the pacing, the writing, the relationship (the subtle...and then not-so-subtle D/S overtones throughout the book were spot-on and fucking perfect). I even enjoyed the secondary characters as they were pretty well fleshed out. It's a friends-to-lovers story, but so.much.more. Watching Holly and Nick each crash and burn in their respective lives and then figure out what they have both been missing out on is just amazing. I can't recommend this book enough!

Nighttime Wishes
Nighttime Wishes by M.A. Church

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars! I freakin loved this! I had no idea what was going to happen...and then I had to keep reading to find out what happens next! And its book one! Can't wait until the next book! (seriously, when is it coming out?)

Pure, fantasy m/m sci-fi (which was exactly what I was in the mood for and just didn't know it) :)

Perfect Day
Perfect Day by Josh Lanyon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars. Loved this! It's only shy of 30 pages, but you can't even tell when your done reading. Most short stories leave you wanting more, but this one was just perfect. You get to know Graham and Wyatt and their emotions are spot-on.

Let There Be Light by R. Cooper

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Really, really wanted a little more at the end. What happens next!?!?

The sexual tension between the characters was great and liked the steampunk setting.

Review: Play It Again, Charlie

Play It Again, Charlie
Play It Again, Charlie by R. Cooper

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5-4 stars. I really enjoyed this one. I liked the slow pace and adored both characters. I do wish we got to see Charlie from Will's POV once in awhile. (and I think I'm developing a daddy!kink because that smexxin' was pretty hot!)

These guys did need to communicate better! I was confused for alot of their conversations for the simple fact that they were confused by what the other wanted or meant. Loved how it all turned out and would love to read more of this couple.

The Psychic and the Sleuth
The Psychic and the Sleuth by Bonnie Dee

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by this writing team, and let me tell you, I loved it! I have a few other books by these authors on my TBR list and I'll be moving them to the top.

Really enjoyed both characters (especially Oliver) and the paranormal aspect of the story. And the sexxin' between these two? I thought it was smokin' hot!

Fire and Fang
Fire and Fang by Eden Cole

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 stars. I actually liked this one! Reminds me why Eden Cole is such a guilty pleasure for me. I wouldn't of minded if it was a bit longer since it felt a little rushed towards the end.
